I'm Brenna and I'm excited to welcome you to the Nova Experience.
As a proud Maritimer from Nova Scotia came the name creation Nova Wax Bar. After 10+ years in the industry as an Esthetician in Halifax, Ottawa, and Toronto, I came back to the capital to open Ottawa's first wax bar. While I enjoyed gaining knowledge and working in spas, I wanted to blend that with my own ideas and create a welcoming & upbeat space that was filled with some of your favourite throwback music!
It's not a spa and not at a kiosk in the middle of your favourite mall. However, the results from waxing triumphs over shaving and will keep you coming back.

With working so closely and intimately with our clients, cleanliness and sterilization are equally as important. Mandatory procedures and standards you can expect from us are:
All facial tweezers, mascara wands and eyebrow scissors are soaked in PreEmpt CS20 (high level disinfectant for medical devices and instruments) and stored in sealed sterilization pouches
All beds are disinfected and wiped down after each client followed by fresh examination paper and towel
Hygiene wipes for your personal use (fragrance free, hypoallergenic- made with no Chlorine, Alcohol, Dyes, Parabens or Phthalates)
NO double dipping (because ew...)
Mandatory disposable, latex free gloves worn for every body service
Purell sanitizer in each wax room for staff and client usage (also used before and after each facial waxing service)

When it came to choosing a wax, we tried many different ones and were particular in our final choice. We picked what provided the best results, formulated for sensitive skin, and most importantly, what our clients loved. Our lukewarm wax with strips is creamy, spreads easily and main ingredients include:
JOJOBA OIL: known for its emollient properties, this oil softens and preserves skin's moisture.
ZINC: antiseptic & anti-inflammatory
